Finding the right support can make a challenging time a little easier. We've gathered trusted community resources to help families find support, information, and practical assistance.

Community Health Centers

Access Community Health Centers offers accessible and affordable care to people who often face barriers in accessing high-quality health services. The cost of care is based on a patient’s ability to pay. We provide care at five clinics in Dane and Iowa counties and serve people living in Dane, Iowa, Richland, Sauk, Grant and Columbia counties. We offer medical, dental, behavioral health care and pharmacy services. Clinics offer comprehensive services under one roof, creating a one-stop health care home for patients. Other services include information and referral, health benefits and community resource counseling, and bilingual staff and interpreters.

Southside Clinic

Southside Clinic provides free urgent care for adults who are uninsured or underinsured, regardless of documentation status or language spoken.

Our main goal is to connect patients to care in the community, particularly with a primary care provider (a regular provider who can get to know you and help you over time)

Other Health Resources

  •

Parental Stress Help Line

The Parent Stress Line offers a safe place for parents and caregivers to talk about the challenges of raising children and receive kindness, understanding, and the non-judgmental support needed to help prevent a situation from escalating into a crisis. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Babies and Beyond

Our Sharing Center offers free baby items for women and families with children of ages 0-4 years old. All items are donated and our stock varies each week. We also offer classes for Baby Basics and Parenting Skills, as well as other resources to encourage healthy and positive parenting.

RISE Respite Center

The Respite Center provides emergency child care and respite for children ages 0-14, parent support, and crisis counseling 7 days a week.

Healing House

Healing House is a safe place for families experiencing homelessness to go when a member of the family needs to prepare for a medical procedure or to recuperate after childbirth or hospitalization.

When someone is discharged from the hospital and requires follow-up recuperative care, such care is delivered by home health providers. However, you cannot receive these services if you have no home. Healing House can be that home, so home health providers can provide follow-up care to individuals as they recuperate.

Healing House, located in Madison, is an 8-bed facility, providing 24/7 recuperative care by medically-trained staff and volunteers for up to 28 days. Three meals a day and childcare assistance are provided. In addition, case management helps to end the cycle of homelessness and locate permanent housing.
